Weekly Neighborhood Coffee Recap

Last week was a busy one, as I hosted four neighborhood coffees. I had a great time meeting so many new people and seeing some familiar faces.

I'll provide brief recaps of each neighborhood coffee I host moving forward, to highlight topics our community members shared with me.

Thank you to everyone who came out to share conversation and coffee this past week, I look forward to the many neighborhood coffees to come!

Calespana Neighborhood Coffee: Westminster

Our inaugural neighborhood coffee brought out residents to talk about issues that directly impact them. Navigating County resources was a theme that came up throughout the afternoon. County staff and I offered our insight, helping guide people through the process of accessing services. Thank you Calespana neighborhood for having me!

West Grove Valley Neighborhood Coffee: Santa Ana

Our neighborhood coffee at Saint Barbara School in Santa Ana was well attended by residents from West Grove Valley and surrounding neighborhoods. Our conversation ranged widely from homelessness and how the County is building a comprehensive system of care to flood control and more. Attendees shared with me personal stories on the impacts of issues that I am working hard to address. It was great to talk with you West Grove Valley Neighborhood, thanks for coming out!

Acacia Pkwy Neighborhood Coffee: Garden Grove

Acacia Pkwy neighborhood residents and I gathered for conversation and coffee last week. It was great meeting residents and understanding their perspectives. We talked about the root causes of homelessness, public safety, and County infrastructure. Thank you Acacia Adult Day Services for having us at your facility!

Gilbert Neighborhood Coffee: Garden Grove

Our Gilbert neighborhood coffee was engaging and insightful. While we sat at Paris Baguette in Garden Grove, we discussed mental health, public safety, and homelessness in depth. Thank you to Garden Grove City Councilmember John O’Neill and everyone who attended for sharing your thoughts and helping Orange County serve our communities better!

Congratulations Rhiannon!

I am so incredibly proud of my daughter, Rhiannon, who graduated from high school last week!

As a father, it is humbling to witness what a driven, intelligent and passionate young woman she has grown to be. Rhiannon was recognized by her School District as one of the scholar athletes of the year for her high school.

I’m so excited to see her take her next steps as she gets ready to start her college journey at UC Davis, my alma mater. Congratulations Rhiannon, we’re so proud of you!
