Orange County Works to Expand Opportunities for Affordable Housing

Orange County needs more affordable housing for working families. In an effort to help spur more affordable housing, the County organized a Housing Symposium to identify opportunities for public-private collaboration.

I am committed to collaborating with the private sector to expand affordable housing opportunities. Together, we’re building a more prosperous and profitable future for the county and our residents. Thank you to all who attended the event!

Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children in Orange County

On November 14, I presented a proclamation to the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children for the rollout of the new California WIC card. This program provides food assistance to families who are struggling to make ends meet. The WIC Card is a vital tool for families to ensure their children get the proper nutrition they need.

As the representative for the district with the highest number of WIC enrollees in the County, it makes me proud to see the program step into the 21st Century by offering our residents this much-needed update. Thank you to WIC staff for your hard work in making this incredible improvement possible.

Free Flu Shots for OC Patients

Last Tuesday, nurses from OC Health administered free flu shots at our Santa Ana clinic. If you missed last week’s clinic, we will be having two more flu shot clinics this week; November 21 in Westminster and November 22 in Garden Grove. Thank you to the Delhi Center for allowing us to host our annual flu shot.

This flu season, make sure you and your family are protected!

Floral Park Neighborhood Coffee

Last Tuesday, I held a neighborhood coffee at Santiago Elementary School in Floral Park. We talked about the County’s efforts in making mental health resources more accessible for residents. We also covered the Keeping California Safe Act, which was recently supported by the Board of Supervisors to undo the harm caused by Prop 57. Attendees also spoke about the County’s efforts to improve public safety in the Jack Fisher Park area by bringing up the recent fence installation along the creek bed, as requested by residents. Thank you, Principal Jimmy Bruhl, for hosting and to everyone who attended!
